Brilliant - By: , 02 Mar 2005
This, as the other reviewers said, is a prime example of midsomer murders. It starts with simon fletcher having a disturbing dream, & as soon as he travels to badgers drift, a serial killer starts killing apparently random villagers in horrific ways (decapitated, burned alive etc). Barnaby must find the nutter before more villagers suffer a grisly fate. My only problem is the village fete. its far too happy (until the obvious murder) & you could argue that it ruins the grisly plot. Other than that you can't go wrong. Prepare to be amazed!
Absolutely fantastic! - By: , 13 Jul 2002
Wow. I love alll of the titles in the 'Midsomer Murders' series but I firmly believe that this is one of the best, if not THE best. The cast is faultless (Richard Briers is wonderful in particular) & the storyline is extremely clever. Brilliantly written, acted & directed, you can't go wrong with this one. Highly recommended.
Quite frankly, the best series on television - By: , 19 Jul 2000
I watch a hell of a lot of television & I am confident in my statement that this is the best series that I have seen. All videos in this series are superb - cannot honestly pick a favourite - & I'm waiting for the next few videos to be released to add to my collection. Death's Shadow is a prime example of Midsomer Murders at its finest - a terrific cast, Jeremy Silberston's impeccable direction & a quirky intelligent script from Anthony Horowitz. Let's hope that as soon as Series Five is shown, it zips onto video... We want more!
