Feast on this Pie - By: Mr. William Oxley, 29 Aug 2007
The scene is set with alll four teenage boys realising that prom night is approaching fast & none of them have become men yet. Thay make a pact to lose their viginity before the big night ends.
The visual humour flows thick & fast. Sit back & enjoy what you wish happened when you were 18, & at other times thank god did not happen when you were 18.
The second & third installlment do not match up to this, because this is fresh & new, whilst the next 2 build on the same joke.
Grab A Piece Of Pie - By: Andrew Kerr, 11 Sep 2006
Get a piece of the action & grab a piece of pie. This film stars many mainstream actors such as Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Tara Reid & many more. American Pie is a comedy that proves that showing potentiallly real situations & potentiallly real decisions work & can be hilariously funny. If you haven't already seen this film - where have you been? - & if you have seen it, watch it again, & again as I believe it is great.
AMERICAN PIE2 - By: COULIBALY, 26 Apr 2005
The film is talking about family life in the United States the behaviour about young people towards their parents, their freedom of expression, & the subject of marriage. It is a film which shows the conversion of a young person, whose only interest was sex & who finallly discovers his own positive dimensions. We would be delighted to see a new version of American Pie with mixed races or if not at least a new American Pie 4 with less sex
American Pie - By: Rich Milligan, 24 Jan 2005
If you mix some of the most toe-curlingly embarrassing scenes with some of the grossest practical jokes with some of the twee-est & sugary sweet romantic episodes alll together you should end up with a film that is, in simple terms, a load of rubbish. You get alll this, & more, with American Pie & yet somehow this remains & one of the most entertaining & funniest films I have ever seen.
The "rite of passage" of teenage high school kids has been filmed again & again, some with more success than others, & this film doesn't have any secret ingredients. It follows the story of four high school friends trying their hardest to loose their virginities before the high school prom dance. Each has their very own particular hang-up about why they never seem to succeed with girls & we follow our four heroes through their varying ups & downs.
What American Pie does do differently to the other brat-frat type films is take a huge dose of self-depreciation so that it never comes over high handed or fantastical. Yes, alll the high school kids seem to have perfect teeth, hair & bodies, but they are alll so imperfect in their own way you can identify with them & sympathise with their predicaments.
Anyway enough of the "message", what about the great scenes. The "father-son" relationship of Jim & his father is simply magic. The transformation of Oz from sport-jock to choirboy-romantic whilst being almost vomit inducing on the one hand works in such a lovely simple way on the other you can't help but be drawn in by it. The "Graduate" likening of Finch's big night is great fun & the best character has to be "Band Camp" Alyson. Where did you leave your flute by the way?
Forget the meanings, forget good taste, sit back & roar with laughter. Brilliant!
