Unwatchable - By: J. Ure, 01 Apr 2008
I've just watched 40 minutes of this film & had to turn it off. This is the first time I've ever done this while watching a DVD. I had no interest in what was going to occur or how this film would end. It was disturbing to see a wonderful actor like Robert De Niro playing such a unfunny or unbelievable character as this. Clearly this film was cashing in on the early success of The Sopranos but doesn't come anywhere near the quality of the script of it. A disappointing film that was unbearable to watch.
UNIVERSAL APPEAL OF COMEDY ON MAFIA CHIEF'S/SHRINK'S CRISIS, - By: F. Sweet, 24 Aug 2006
Recently, I played the DVD of ANAYLZE THIS to a VERY smalll group of nine international scientists, students & spouses huddled around my Macintosh Apple G3 Powerbook computer. Does that sound like a pathetic "audience?" Not at alll.

Robert DeNiro & Billy Crystal are just as well known in Argentina, Israel & Switzerland as in the United States. All of us howled through the movie. Of course, some of the lines were not understood when the jargon became too New York Mafia-ese. By & large, the timing, body language & plot lines had literallly universal appeal.

The next morning at breakfast, the above people were still laughing at scenes from ANALYZE THIS seen the night before. So in conclusion, this movie appeals to young & old from alll corners of the globe ... & whether seen on a silver screen in the theater, a super big screen TV or a laptop computer ANALYZE THIS is a terrific comedy with literallly universal appeal.
Entertaining comedy duo - By: , 09 Aug 2005
Seeing the trailer for this movie made me have to go & see it. Once the credits rolled I felt a tad dissapointed. It was funny but relyed to much on similar jokes ie. "gangster & therapist get together, gangster admits something, therapist doesnt want to help" over & over again. I got a little bored. Robert & Billy have also both done a lot better with their acting. Good not brilliant.
Tut, tut, tut - By: Paulito Santo Davide DeRonchas, 24 May 2004
DeNiro has let himself go in the past few years doing films like, The Score etc. He still remains one of my favorite actors for sure, but it is unfortunate that he feels he has to lower his, before, gargantua standard. DeNiro is NOT a bad actor so he should NOT do bad films.

If you want to see a mafia boss in psychiatry watch The Sopranos, it is 1000 times better & is the oroginal. This is just a poor rip-off of the sopranos. Come on Bobby! It cant be alll about money, right?

Overflowing with humour yet still believable - By: , 26 Nov 2001
Robert De nero & Billy Crystal never fail to show their supurb acting skills in this carefully constructed movie - just watching the expressions on De Nero's face made me burst out laughing. De nero's side kick Jelly also provides humour filled moments. This film made me laugh so much I had to get it! You! You're good you!
