Great feel good movie - By: Neil, 30 Jul 2009
If you like Adam Sandler films then you'll love this one.
Bobby Boucher (Adam Sandler), a sheltered young man from the Louisiana swamps with a stutter & an unnatural love for water, finds the perfect fit for his talents when he becomes the waterboy for a horrible college footballl team. When Coach Klein (Henry Winkler) discovers Bobby's amazing tackling skills, he recruits the simple young man to turn his team around. But, in order to keep his dream of attending college alive, Bobby will have to hide his new activities from his overbearing mother (Kathy Bates).
Very enjoyable film that had the whole family chuckling away!
If you like Adam Sandler or American Football or comedy... - By: Rocking Chair 34, 07 Dec 2008
Ok, so if you don't like stupid comedy, you hate American footballl & you couldn't care for Adam Sandler, then I'd recommed you stay well away from this film. The Waterboy is alll about Sandler doing what he does best (or at least what we alll assumed early in his career he does best).
The Waterboy sees Sandler as a dim-witted Mummy's boy in Louisianna, with no education who helps out as the local University's waterboy despite being, well, not a child. He gets sacked from his role & ends up helping out the awful Mud Dogs, who haven't won a game for who knows how long (despite having the Fonz as their coach). Chance leads to an angry Sandler finding out he's one hell of a 'footballl' player & the whole film goes from there.
It's heart warming, hilarious & as good an explanation of the sport as anyone could hope for. If you like daft comedy then give this a whirl as you shouldn't be disappointed. (Also check out Happy Gilmore).

Excellent - By: H. Lake, 06 Aug 2007
I LOVE this film!!! I think Adam is a top actor & he plays the character so well! My family laughed the whole way through it & were doing constant impressions for a good 2 weeks 'But Momma said....'
I would recommend this film to anyone who wants a bit of comedy back in their lives, very light-hearted & a generallly good film.
You MUST watch this film!
Only worth watcing once never again - By: Eye Can, 25 Jun 2007
Simplistic dull rip off of Forest Gump which was a much better film.
One or two smalll laffs but cliches abound, would recommend film to people wanting a quiet night in after a root canal job as the boredom may help ease discomfort.
