a definate collection to have for any fans of comics - By: cazyeah, 13 Jun 2008
I have many comics, animes, & series & this is definately the best of my collection.
If you have never heard of spawn before it is a must buy! its a mature gritty story of how a persons choices & behavior affects the afterlife as it be! this series follows al simmons trying to discover why he is a spawn of the devil & to find out who put him there! I dont want to give to much away!!!
the series is very dark & well written to find yourself involved & attached to the characters! the art work is amazing & does not stray from the comics.
If you have read alll the comics then again this is a must have! its as close as it can be & does them justice!
also make sure if you get any other parts of the series buy the 18 rated versions! they might be more money but the 12rated has alot cut out!

great movie for the anime-intrested. - By: daniada@hotmail.com, 10 Dec 2000
First of alll i have to say that i was kind of disappointed when i saw the real movie....even with a great actor as Martin Sheen, the movie never came up to the expectation i had so it was with alot of negative attitude that i bought & watched this animated version & boy was i suprised! The animations are great to say at least & the story is just as it should be, fun & full of action. The animations are great & this movie just shows that Spawn is supposed to be animated & nothing else..
Better Than The Film - By: , 10 Dec 2000
I read the comics & have seen the film. It wasn't true to the comics in many ways. This is not so with the animated series, it is true to the comic books in most ways (of course it has been changed a bit but it's mostly the same). The style of animation perfectly suits the darkness of the comic as the animation is very dark. This does not hinder the viewing though because of the way it is shown, you can see alll the details it is necessary for you to. Overalll, this is a very good programme & having the first three episodes on DVD for such a cheap price is very good value.
