George in a rousing, wacky department store comedy - By: , 10 Feb 2001
Even though we were both born & live in Portland, Oregon (N.W. - U.S.A.)we are big George Formby fans. This film is an absolute classic romp. Of course the plot is subservient to Formby's comedy bits, some of which are so inventive we've never seen them performed before. It is very clear that he had an influence on many of the comedy stars of today. For his music fans, this film features four different songs, including his classic "I'm the ukelele man". Anyone who enjoys good comedy will get a big kick out of "Spare a copper".
