ROCKIN' SERIES - By: JuiCe, 08 Aug 2006
I was a little sceptical about this series, but after it was recommended to me, thought I'd check it out. I was pleasantly surprised as, for the most part, found it to be hilarious & good fun. As a former music student, also found it to be very informative in terms of how the music business operates. The series is spread over two videos (3 episodes per video) & in my opinion the 1st video had a better direction & flow to it than the 2nd video. Also wish to fully recommend & highly rate 'variousvideos' who supplied me with the product. The delivery was very speedy; the product arrived well wrapped & in excellent condition.
The Best Comedy in Years! - By: sjd@glenartney.fsnet.co.uk, 19 Jan 2002
Definately the best comedy in years! This focuses on a group trying to make it in the music business with alll the laughs along the way. With excellent performances from Simone Lahbib & Ciaran McMenamin this will keep you hooked! If like me ur Scottish u will luv this & if not u will find the take on Scottish culture hilarious. The band, Jocks-Wa-Hey also have a great sound & i am going in search of the soundtrack as it is a must have.
Brilliantly funny - By: , 25 Aug 2000
If you want a video to cheer you up on a rainy/boring day this is the one! All of the cast are excellent, especiallly Simone Lahbib, who plays Fiona Johnstone, a DJ by night & DSS employee by day who proves to be the key to propelling the group to stardom. Although it seems pretty much inevitable that she will eventuallly let Jez, the groups's singer, have his wicked way with her, there are plenty of laughs along the way. It's a while now since it was first on TV, but I saw some of the repeats this year, managed to miss the end & thought I HAVE to buy the video!Especiallly as one who is partial to "happy" endings.
Very funny from start to end - By: , 25 Aug 2000
This is a wonderful comical look at the ups & downs of making it in the tough music business, with alll the true things you have to look out for. The musical talent of Jocks Wahey is also great, but the humor makes it more a satirical than a serious documantary. Stapleton performs a wonderful Scottish accent with some excellent guitar playing & Marwick delivers a great permance as the dedicated rock singer/songwriter. This is a MUST for any music fan.
