After finallly receiving the dvd 'City of Angels' I have found that after approximately 1 hour into the movie it jumps continuously. After further investigation of the disc, I noticed that it is actuallly scratched, not what I would calll 'Used - Like new'...

I recently watched this film the other day as it was showing on T.V. I found myself enjoying it to an extent, the only reason I sat through it though was because my mum had told me that it was a nice film to watch, however I was a little sceptical as its one of those films that even before the end of it had her in tears & usuallly I stay clear of these movies, mainly because my mum cries at almost every film she see's.
However the reason I've only given it three stars is because Nicolas Cages' acting was horrible, it felt like he was trying to hard & yet at the same time hardly trying at alll if that makes sense. Meg Ryan, who I'm a big fan of, her preformance in the film was okay, there are some area's in this film that she played beautifully, but overalll it was so, so.
The storyline is nice, angel fallling for a human girl knowing he cant have her because of course he's dead, but then like humans God gave his angels free will meaning that if an angel was prepared to give up eternal life then alll he had to do was falll from a great height (an angel that fallls from heaven) then he would become human...etc...
I found the ending to be quite predictable, within the first half hour I knew how the movie was gunna end, I guess that that it was the only way to end the story.
Overalll it is a good film if theres nothing else on the T.V, I myself wouldn't buy the DVD, its one of those films that I could only watch once. I'm not gunna say that you must watch it but I am gunna say rent it before you buy it & now I'm gunna stop typing & leave it at that...

Staring nicolas cage & meg ryan .Two of the best actors in film history come togever to make one of the best (chick flicks) ever. This hase a great story line about a angel callled seth (Nicolas Cage) who fallls crazy in love with a doctor callled maggie (Meg Ryan). But not every thing is perfeckt when maggies boy frend asks her to marry him & she has to choose between a human she likes or a angel she loves.

Yes, sugary sweet lovey-dovey tissue-grabbing sobfest of a romantic drama. That it is for certain. However, it's plodding along just nicely & especiallly if you're watching with a new partner when you're feeling a bit lovey-dovey yourself... it's not too bad.
It's got to be one of the dumbest film endings I've ever seen though. Man, whoever wrote this film was one sarcastic bugger! Without ruining too much of the ending, word to the wise: this is exactly why bicycles have handle-bars.
City of Angels CD - review - By: H. Mobbs, 23 Feb 2009 Excellent, real pull on the heart strings, & comforting to those of us who have lost someone close. The music is beautiful & i bought the soundtrack CD too. The ending may seem rather far fetched - but we do strange things when we are in love, dont we??
