A slap in the face- By: , 21 Feb 2004 Even though I started out with Season 3, by the time I had seen alll of Season 1 & 2, I couldn't find these episodes anything but a slap in the face of everything I had loved about the show. While it may be amusing in the abstract, Burning Down the House systematicallly destroys so much of what was magical about the original version of the show, including symbolicallly destroying the last remaining traces of Ray Vecchio, whose early "goodbye" scene is easily the best thing in alll of S3. And Asylum, far from making me like Kowalski which it was clearly intended to do, made me realize just how much I found him two-dimensional, self-centered, & whiney while *yet again* casting aspersions on Ray Vecchio, a far richer, more human character. Normallly, the S3 episodes don't test Rennie's severely limited acting abilities, but they are pushed beyond the limit in this episode.fab start!- By: , 19 Oct 2000 this is the begining (and end) of an era - the new Ray (the magicallly delicious Calllum Keith Rennie!) is introduced, after a highly emotion exit by David Marciano. If you dislike the new Ray - the second ep will totallly turn you around! 2 top episodes, highly recomended!
