Well I am a cliched Irish woman and I loved this film - By: Snowangel, 11 Sep 2006
As a repost to the cynical reviewer who decried the so callled cliched Irish stereotypes in the film, I did not see anything like that in this magical & unusual film. It was a wonderful, strange mixture of gritty realism & magic, beautiful(the grey stalllion was actuallly Spanish) horses & Ireland. Sad to be so jaded with life not to enjoy a couple of hours of joyous escapism.....
wonderful magical and moving - By: , 13 May 2004
This film makes you laugh & cry, it starts with two young boys surviving in a hard bleak world with their alcholic father & moves on to be an incredible adventure story as the boys become fugitives on the run across Ireland. Through this adventure the characters find what was missing in there lives. It also has one of the most touching magical endings. Well worth buying. And fantastic for adults & children alike.
Gaelic folklore perfectly blended with gritty modern realism - By: Mrs. D. Green, 24 Jan 2002
This is a brilliant film, the story of a white stalllion who befriends two irish boys. Tinkers & travellers, Dublin & piebalds, humour & sorrow. Gritty modern realism perfectly blended with Gaelic folklore & the story of TÍR na nÓG.
An enchanting yet brutal portrayal of Irish life. - By: , 17 Apr 2001
Into the west teaches us & entertains us.True there may be one to many irish stereotypes but this film contains alot of truth. An incredible alll irish cast & crew. This is a heartfelt heartrenching story, which gives us an insight into a culture & way of life many of us will never experience. Its full of charm & I love it.God Bless the travellers.
