Myers excellent, however... - By: Stampy, 25 Jul 2008
Mike Myers (Shrek) writes & stars in this spy spoof sequel as Dr Evil travels back to the 60's to steal Austin's mojo in a plan to take over the world.

International man of mystery was excellent, goofy yet sophisticated with daft humour & interesting characters & a real comedy take on the spy genre. This criticallly acclaimed sequel follows the same route with the same weird & wonderful central protagonist Austin Powers who has a new sidekick, Felicity Shagwell, played with some charm by Heather Graham.

Myers also throws in an array of new characters, alll comicallly arranged for extra humour, such as Mini Me, Fat B*****d & Robin Spitz Swalllows, alll interesting & crude in their own way, a useful technique in the spoof genre.

Though lacking the sophistication & humour of the first, this sequel does have many giggles & a fairly gripping plot to keep you hooked, though inconsistent there are twists & turns as well as many jokes for the more adult viewer.

Myers must be praised for his writing & his acting as alll different characters. Though humour isn't on top form, he has spread diversity throughout the characters & does well in achieving the predictability in a comic light, with different techniques used for variety.

The character of fat B*****d is obviously a spoof, & a very horrible & crude one at that, so horrible I couldn't even look at the screen when he was on.

Others, who include Graham, Rob Lowe & Michael York are alll average in their roles, & alll could have done with perhaps more airtime to cement their roles into the plot.

The cinematography & graphics are well used, & one of the final scenes involving Dr Evil & his shuttle is very funny. The writing is good, not great by Myers & in conclusion, the film is a watchable spoof, portraying the genre well but inconsistent with average performances from the supporting cast & doesn't have the build that the first had.

Lots of Fun! - By: M. A. Ramos, 05 Oct 2007
This spoof on Secret agents & the 60's is a lot of fun. This movie should be watched for its comedy & soundtrack. Actuallly a sequel that is good.... Follows the same randy vein as the first movie.
Another reason to love the 90's! - By: T. Clarke, 12 Aug 2006
As my title says, this is one of the things I think about when the 90's is brought up. Austin Powers was already a huge hit among us teens at the time, & the sequel does a great job!
Indeed, it takes a slightly different approach, but it still retains the comedy & humour we expect from Mr Powers. I love the soundtrack, & Madonna's Beautiful Stranger was a perfect choice.
Great fun! Just dont take it too seriously & you'll enjoy it even more :)
One BILLion dollars... - By: , 23 Feb 2006
What a disappointment this was for fans of the original? Instead of going the Wayne's World route & making a sequel a step-up from the first, Myer's second Power's film is a rehash. It's got the same jokes, the same plotline, the same everything. The only difference is Heather Graham doing a sub-par imitation of Elizabeth Hurley. It'll break you down because Myers is so eager to be liked that you'll have to smile but it's out of sympathy rather than for any genuine comic originality.
The best Austin Powers! - By: Dpl, 14 Jul 2005
This has to be the best Austin Powers film! It introduces some hillarious new characters like mini me & Fat B******. Valicity is well fit aswell! It starts with Dr.Evil being unfrozen again & going back in time with his midget clone minime to collect Austin's mojo from the 3 tonne Scotsman Fat B******. Then he tries to send a meteor crahing down on the Earth & cause a new ic age unless people pay him 1billion dollers! Austin then goes back in time to stop him & get his mojo back! It's packed with hilarious jokes alll the way through that will leave you laughing for days! It's way better than the first & third Austin Powers films, anyone who likes anything funny will love this film!
