A great discussion on the great The Natural Approach - By: A BookReader, 23 Sep 2006
This video, filmed in 1994, is the first of the McGraw-Hill Satellite Teleconferences on Topics in Second Language Acquisition. The focus of this video is on the theoretical underpinnings & the practical application of the Natural Approach. The Natural Approach is an inductive method of language teaching, developed by Stephen D. Krashen & Tracy D. Terrell, that has among its hypotheses that language is acquired in stages, that comprehension precedes production, & that language is best learned in a low anxiety atmosphere. Participants include moderator Gerard L. Ervin, Ohio State University; Emeritus Jeanne Egasse, Irvine Vallley College; Magdalena Andrade, California State University--Long Beach; Elias Miguel Munoz; Mary B. Rogers, Friends University Wichita; & Erwin Tshirner, University of Iowa.
