Not as good as the first book - By: Jay, 11 May 2005
I read the first book in the series - How to own the box - while on holiday in January & was reallly pleased. While some of the tech details were a little incorrect (only a little) it was a good read & I have given it to other people to give them an idea of security.
I then ordered this second book. While most of the tech details were good & I reallly enjoyed the ID theft & money parts, I was not too pleased with the story.
It seemed to have some story details that were forgotten about etc. so we see an investigation that fallls away for no reason etc.

Still a good read (not as good as the first) & I will buy the new 'owning an ID' book that I just noticed on Amazon!

A pretty good read - By: , 13 Feb 2005
STN: How To Own a Continent is very much worth reading, but it is not nearly as good as How To Own the Box.
Gone phishing - By: , 03 Feb 2005
This book is a great insight into the world of computer hacking & security. Trouble is it sits rather uncomfortably between high tech thriller & out & out hacking guide which at times renders it practicallly unreadable. Neverthless persevere & it's a gold-mine of information. Whatever it's literary shortcomings several of the authors are giants of the hacking world so this book can't be ignored.
Interesanting - By: Astral, 14 Jul 2004
Very interesanting book with some good scenarios. You won't find any practical examples or step by step guides on how to hack but rather some interesanting scenarios on hacking atm machines, cleaning the money & so on ...
Excellent! - By: , 04 Jul 2004
Having read the first book in tbe series (How to own
the box), I thought I'd give this one a go. I am only halfway through it & I'm not disappointed. More of the same but on grander scale. The writers capture the mood & you reallly feel like you are there in each chapter. Part geek manual & part hi-tech thriller, these stories are brill. Pick it up & then try to put in down - bet you cant do it!
