cooking granny - By: Heather Nelson, 12 May 2008
I was given this book when I became a Granny, & I love it, many of the recipes remind me of when I was a child. I love the way it is written & the new 'take' on old themes. A great & practical cook book!
A lovely book - By: P. J. rowlands, 25 Jan 2008
This is the best cookery book ive read in a long time.Down to earth & nostalgic. The recipes have been written for people who love 'a proper dinner' followed by a lovely pudding.
Nicely nostalgic - By: William, 05 Oct 2007
This isn't a book about cooking with your grandchildren, it's a collection of recipes like Mum or Grandma used to make - brought up to date to suit modern tastes & kitchens. Nothing too tricky here, but plenty of inspiration. I love it & will use it a lot.
fantastic all-round cookbook - By: LM, 01 Oct 2007
I love this book already. There's nothing in it that I wouldn't like to eat or to cook. There are naturallly some recipes in here that I don't need a cookbook to teach me how to make, but plenty of classics that I've just never got around to trying, but which I will make now, insprired by this book.
A real classic - By: Venetia W, 26 Sep 2007
Amid alll those TV celebrity chef cookbooks, this is a real breath of fresh air. Delicious, easy to follow recipes on nearly every page, with none of those ridiculous ingredients lists with silly names you can't pronounce! This is a cookbook for real people, & I even found an old recipe - one of my childhood favourites! - a potato dish,"Champ", that my Irish granny used to make for me. A real classic!
