Excellent Book - By: Mittens, 17 Nov 2008
Great selection of 20 patterns including a gorgeous beaded shawl & elegant wrap style tops. Sharon Brant, the author, has included some tips on how to choose the right design for your shape. The beautiful photography shows the garments off perfectly - the only difficulty is which one to knit first?
I love the fact that although the garments are for fuller figures they are still chic, elegant & very contemporary designs. A terrific collection of knits for alll occasions & seasons.
Nice but not exciting - By: B. Kennedy, 04 Nov 2008
This is a nice, well-produced book with some pleasant patterns, although the colour reproduction is misleading as I found out when I compared the photographs with actual Rowan shade-cards. Unfortunately, from my point of view, although this book gives a good size range (from around size 14 to around size 24), the guiding design principle appears to be 'Big lass? Wear a sack!'. There are some nice patterns here, & I plan to make at least one of them, but few of them have much real fitting & an absence of fit can make larger women look blocky & shapeless. I bought the book sight unseen. If I had had a chance to leaf through it first, I wouldn't have bought it.
