Dreadful! - By: Mr. N. Hunter, 20 Oct 2008
This is yet another of those American so-callled thrillers in which the plot is totallly unbelievable, & the characters comic book. The hero is shown as some sort of superman & the Swiss police as corrupt & inept. It is this year's appallling read - save your money!
editing!!!! - By: Munir Abubakar, 10 Sep 2008
i have read many thriller type books set in the modern world revolving around objects connected to the past & i must say this book is no more than average. the editing job done is horrendous, gramaticallly incorrect in many spots it made it annoying at times to read. alll that aside its a good book to pass time on a plane journey or while topping up a tan on the beach. a classic by no means however.
Truely brilliant - By: P. D. Armstrong, 03 Oct 2007
One of the most gripping books I have read. I intended to read this book on holiday but started it 2 days beforehand & was so engrossed in it that I couldn't put it down so it never made it on holiday.
The plot is brilliant full of twists & turns that will leave you guessing right until the end. Craig Brown has done a superb job in bringing the past & present together in a plausible manner creating a totallly enthrallling story.
I eagerly await his next novel.
An Absolute Winner !! - By: Burdette R. Palmberg, 07 Aug 2007
Smith writes with intelligence, breathless intrigue & action. The Painted Messiah is an amazing read that has caused me to put everything else on my plate to one side until I "rode this pony" to the finish line. The character development is crystal & I found myself caring deeply for the protagonists. The research Smith has done is historicallly fascinating & the book was deeply satisfying. Why is Craig Smith not in the American market ??
Move over Morell, Ludlum, Cornwalll & Diehl, Smith is coming to town !!
A riveting novel - By: Dennis W. Alstott, 29 Jul 2007
I was riveted to this novel from the onset. Craig Smith has an outstanding talent of developing two or three stories within a novel, which makes it alll the more intriguing. I always try to guess the ending of a novel, as I read along. Boy...was I totallly wrong. The novel so enthrallls me that I am writing my first 'review,' because I think everyone deserves the opportunity to know what a great novel this is. I had to borrow this from a friend, here in the U.S., after reading the review in the Terre Haute Tribune (Indiana). Don't miss out on an adventure in your lifetime. This 321 page novel is easily a two or three day read. You won't be able to put it down!
