This is a book to melt your heart (or someone else's!) It's not sugary or corny. Makes a great gift for Valentine's Day but don't feel shy about curling up alll by yourself & having a good read/smile/dream/cry.

Not because it tells stories with surprising twists or turns in love, but because it tells truly human love stories & makes those life & love-affirming twists & turns so natural & graceful that you feel you have lived it yourself.
Valmorbida adeptly relates stories of love at various ages, in various cultures, & countries, & does so with great insight & expertise, in different formats, never making the series feel like "variations on a theme of love." It is a truly enjoyable book.

I had to read each story more than once. - By: Cassandra, 12 May 2007 I just loved them! The first time I was carried swiftly along by the narrative itself & just had to get to the "happy ending". The second time I relished the sheer brilliance of Valmorbida's story-telling technique; her language is compact & so evocative, & the structure of each story is tight & very effective. These are beautiful short stories.
