drivel utter drivel - By: 2212, 03 Oct 2008
I agree wholeheartedly with the other 1 star review. This is such poor penmanship, I'd be embarrassed to calll myself a writer if i were the author.
It is 195 pages, each chapter split between the present & the 'flashback' period. It centres around a young woman callled Faith who we have not met in the TV series. Faith is a dull as dishwater character, who you neither care about & like the other reviewer said, wished she had not survived & we could then focus on a character with some personality. I was also annoyed by each sentence with the words 'beautiful' 'sweetheart' etc.. when addressing another character.
The plot is paper thin & uninteresting. It focuses on how Faith came to be on the island & the present time focuses on her being on the plane & the crash. Shame the author had not taken advantage of skipping that section which we have already watched in the first series & know how things progress, & giving is a insight into island life through another characters eyes & what they thought of the others etc.
Lost is a fantastic show, one of my favourites, but these books reallly do let it down & give you nothing new to ponder on until the next series. A waste of money.
Wheres the plot? LOST! - By: , 04 Apr 2006
I was excited to get the lost book however upon reading it I found the introduction of a new character. The only reason I wanted the book was to read about the film in written form!
It is a gripping read but only buy it if you aren't bothered that it ISN'T the T.V series told!
Lost in the drama - By: M. Harpur, 07 Dec 2005
I admittedly had low expectations when I realised that the book was based on a new, original character, but upon reading the first few chapters & delving into the jungle I couldn't put the book down. It is full of the familiar plot twists that is synonymous with the show. A great book for Lost fans seeking new thrills, alll I can say is BUY it & see for yourself.
Lost the plot!!! - By: , 04 Dec 2005
This book is so painfully bad it's a wonder it ever got published. Apart from the primary school level of English, the plot is just non existent. There is lots of rehashing of scenes that took place in the first season of Lost (want to relive it alll over again & pay for the privilege - no, I didn't think so!) It's a shame because the way Lost is shaping up there are so many stories that haven't been told. Good spin offs would have been a way of filling in some of the characters' missing details but the main character in Endangered Species is so self-righteous & dull that you end up wishing she'd not survived the crash. Do yourself a favour, buy the DVDs & watch the fantastic TV series alll over again & pick up a copy of The Lost Chronicles:The Official Companion Book (Mark Cotta Vaz) which is exactly as TV companion books should be - excellent.
Interesting ! - By: JOHN H. Hurt, 01 Dec 2005
Before you buy this book I warn that it is about a woman not included in the TV series but rather another survivor alll together .Ive read it , enjoyed it & found it very interesting . Well worth it if you are a die hard LOST fan . It takes a while to get going but once your in you wont escape until you have finished it ! I'm not going to tell you about the story because that would give it away !
My advice ..........BUY !!!
