vague approach - By: P. Borzabadi Farahani, 28 Sep 2008
I read the previous reviews & thought it should be a worth buy. tbh, I didn't find it well explained cos it just jumped through topics. for instance I assume as a know-how book, it should spend some time on explaining how to installl & for each scenario suggesting a solution, which def it is not. I more suggest to get O'Reilly's books for BIND & POSTFIX & something you should bear in mind it's not a cookbook & I personallly didn't like O'Reilly's Bind book, I liked Pro Bind better.

This is a pretty good book. It is true that you will find up-to-the-minute info on the net & in theory you don't need a book like this. In practice, unless you are already a Linux Email Guru, a book like this can reallly speed up the learning process & show you how the different sub systems that you will need to make a practical email system fit together & can be configured. I didn't build exactly the system that was described in this book but found it's examples & guidance (at system level) very helpful.

I recommend 'Postfix, the definitive guide' & 'The Book of Postfix' to go with it. I also highly recommend Postfix...
quickly out of date - By: Mr. Khushil Dep, 29 Sep 2007
reallly folks for stuff like this you need to use a site like "howtoforge" which has uptodate stuff - unlike this book.
