3 Steps to Fertility - By: Happy reader, 10 Jun 2007
This is a reallly well written, practical, easy to understand book for anyone having problems getting pregnant. This book has changed my life & I'm not someone prone to exageration. I bought
it having been trying for a baby for over a year. I had had several tests & been told I had hormonal problems. I'd been put on Clomifen for 6 months & that hadn't worked.

Reading the book was the first time I had ever heard of PCOS. I recognised so many of the symptoms that I asked my doctor if I had
PCOS & she confirmed it (I never got round to finding out why she hadn't told me in the first place). Since then I bought a couple of books on PCOS & joined Verity as recommended in the book. I have changed my diet to the low GI diet - similar to the diet detailed in the book.

The result is that aged 37, after almost 2 years of trying for a baby & having made an appointment at an IVF clinic, I am now 20 weeks
pregnant - & very happy.

I never normallly write into websites, but the information in the book has had such an impact on me that I had to write this.
Helpful - By: Janet Lloyd, 03 Aug 2006
Over the years I've read many different articles & features on how to conceive naturallly & with assistance. Not for my own personal need, but on behalf of a close family friend who has desperately longed for a child as far back as I can remember.

What particularly appealed to me about this book was it's easy to follow manner & 3 step guide. By breaking the challlenge; how to maximise your chance of conception, into 3 separate stages it became easy to follow & understand, finallly painting a clearer picture of what to do next, in my mind.

The three stages are: Gaining a full understanding of the male & female bodies & reasons for infertility, Finding out where the problem could lie by completing specific fertility tests & finallly a 3-month preconception plan.

I found the first step fascinating, apart from the obvious; I'd never reallly considered the intricate differences of the male & female anatomy before! The tests were cleverly constructed but simple to follow & the three step plan made the horrendous challlenge of attempting to conquer infertility, finallly seem like a possibility.

Infertility & depression go hand-in-hand; often subconsciously as the affected party bravely carries on regardless, however, in order for fertility to become an option, it is crucial that this is overcome:

"Depression is so debilitating to you & your life. My advice is to find a way to change your outlook by talking to friends, family & fertility counsellors or undergo hypnotherapy treatment - whatever it takes! Don't let your life pass you by; get out from under the cloud & take action now!" A section in step 3 is dedicated to the benefits of hypnotherapy & how it may help you conceive."

I'd previously heard that hypnotherapy is used by a number of women in a desperate bid to conceive, however, I don't think I ever reallly believed it could actuallly work, it was certainly the last suggestion I'd expected to read in this book. I am now a wholehearted supporter of hypnotherapy & would advise anyone with an open mind & longing for a child to give it a bash.

This book is extremely detailed but it is also structured in a clear & colourful manner, which alllows the reader to dip in & out of sections to refresh the memory or learn something new. I learned a great deal from reading it & intend to continue to refer to it for years to come.

The greatest lesson I think I learned from this book is that each infertile couple is unique & that what is good for one couple may not work for the next. It is important to keep an open mind, be willing to try anything & although easier said than done, try not to let the negative times weigh to heavily on your life.

I've now passed this book on to my dear friend & she has begun the three step process, with a renewed confidence & hope for the future.

Great! I reallly like Marina’s approach to this delicate subject. We have been trying for a baby for many years, read lots of books on the subject & were beginning to give up hope. This is the first I can truly identify with, maybe because Marina suffered with infertility & has ‘been there, seen it & done it’!

She seems to put alll the medical information into simple, easy-to-follow steps, & we are now embarking on the 3-month preconception plan & even going to try out reflexology while having IVF to increase our chances. I particularly like the success stories as they made me aware of how many different types of treatments can help you get pregnant – I thought I knew everything! I have renewed enthusiasm to get pregnant having read this excellent book!

Brilliant all rounder - By: , 02 Mar 2006
I found this book incredibly helpful. 3 Steps to Fertility lays out alll the key things you need to know & questions you need to ask to work your way through the fertility maze. It's written from a reallly personal perspective, with lots of stories from different points of view. I liked the fact the book covered both the medical & the 'alternative' aspects of maximising conception, unlike many other books which tend to focus only on one end of the spectrum.

Undoubtedly the most helpful, informative book that I have read on fertility & IVF, it reallly helps you through alll stages of the treatment. It is clear & easy to identify with lots of true to life cases & couple's experiences that everyone can relate to,giving me strength throughout my treatment.
The recommended reflexology treatments & in particular the diet, has been brilliant for knowing what to stock up in the fridge to help conceive & give a baby the best possible start in life! Thank you Marina!
