By far the best of it's genre - By: Sophie Edwards, 02 Jul 2008
This book is bloody ace. I went mad & bought 4 pregnancy books but this one is by far the clearest, most sensible, most reassuring, best laid out, most informative & least patronising of the lot. This is my first pregnancy & I live abroad so need as much info as possible about what's happening to me & my baby & this is just brilliant - totallly indispensable. If you're going to buy a pregnancy book - just buy this one, you won't need any others.

Unfortunately i had a fever during my first trimester & without this book i would never have known whether callling the doctor was the right or wrong thing to do (it;s the right thing to do) - I can't praise this book enough.

The best of it's kind! - By: Mrs. K. M. Brown, 21 May 2008
Whilst pregnant, i bought both this book, & the similar one by Dr Miriam Stoppard. This was by far the best. I loved the week by week explanation of the baby's progress including a photo for each week, then a seperate explanation of my own development. Many other books show your development in months for example rather than weeks.

I also found this book nicely up to date, some others on the market have been updated with regards to content but the photo's are very old which is off putting - seeing a picture of a woman dressed head to foot in a towelling nightie!!! Or a checkered tent rather than modern maternity clothes!
If you catch yourself asking questions at 2am - this is the book for you - By: Me, 30 Apr 2008
I bought a couple of books to read during my pregnancy. This was one of them & I have to say, I am reallly glad I did. It has everything in it from what to pack in your hospital bag to how to what your growing baby will look like at 28 weeks & everything & anything else. It reallly is 'the bible'. Excellent for just picking up & having a flick or to go to when you have a real question or worry.

The style of writing is very matter of fact, without being patronising or trying to be your friend which I liked as I wanted a no nonsense book to go along with the other books I'd bought. There is an excellent chapter for new dads & it goes well into birth & the first few weeks of having a baby so I think it will be with me for quite a while.

The only thing I'd have to complain about is the weight of it - leaning it on your bump while you lie in bed reading is not the most comfortable (and baby agrees!) but then, it's probably best not to read about birth or cleft palates or stretch marks just before you go to bed anyway!

A thoroughly good buy - highly recommended.
Brilliant! - By: Supergirl77, 28 Mar 2008
A fantastic point of reference. A reassuring & informative book which I have dipped into throughout my pregnancy, & which has never failed to answer my questions.
