A 3 yr old could have done better! - By: Amigha, 02 Jul 2008
Reallly, I dont undertstand how anyone could have given this book 5 stars...it doesnt even deserve 1 star! There's nothing insightful about it & even an idiot doesn't need to be told 'the four agreements' to know them. A 3 yr old could have written a better book on the subject. Pls dont waste your money in buying this book...anyone want my copy?
A very powerful code to live by - By: A UK reader, 17 Jan 2008
Anyone brousing this review who's considering buying this book; I'd ask the following of you;
Imagine that you have permission to be happy & reallly enjoy your life - that your life is free of internal conflict within yourself & that created by others?
Imagine living your life without the fear of being judged by others? - that you know longer behave fearing how others might judge you?
Imagine letting go of any judgments you have about others & being able to forgive & not feeling the need to be right or make anyone else wrong?
Imagine you no longer fear being rejected & that you no longer have a compulsion to be accepted?
Imagine living without the fear of being loved or the need to be loved?
Imagine loving yourself for just the way you are without the need to live your life through someone else's eyes?
These are the fundamental questions this wonderful book answers via The Four Agreements.
Its a simple yet very profound read as it opens up our thinking & makes us realise how much energy we use & stress we take on in trying to live our lives under the burdons of social conditioning. It makes the point so clearly that its not what happens around us that counts, its how we choose to set our lives up & to live that matters.
Why should we choose to be victims in our own minds & carry around the weight of regret, hoplessness, envy or fear? Why should we shape our actions to constantly get the approval of others? - many who we have never even previously met?
This book has the answers. It makes the point that we aren't afraid to die but we are afraid to live & express ourselves. Its simple & it reallly drives the point home that we cannot continue to dwell in the past or to live in the future. We must live in the 'Now'

Simple and straightforward - By: 65 options, 15 Jun 2006
Miguel Ruiz presents the most direct, simple, & yet profound answers to basic questions about why we are here in this life & how should we conduct ourselves. He has shown me that I can look within to find my own personal truth. The very best thing about these teachings are the straightforward tools that Miguel Ruiz gives us to change our old belief systems & agreements. I have used them, & they work! I got this book as an addition to "Can We Live 150" by M. Tombak - another powerful book about living simple, healthy & happy life. Both books has freed me to live a much more authentic & healthy life. I have read those two books many times an have given them to many friends, as I believe that both physical & mental health are the best gifts you can offer to anyone.
