So much more to ebay than I realised - By: maidenheadmum, 21 Feb 2008
I have been selling on ebay for a few years, only in smalll quantities & as a hobby, but I thought I knew quite a lot. Having read this book I realised I knew nothing. For example simple things such as whether your item title will show up in a buyers search, is it misspelt, have you left out vital information. Stuff that's reallly obvious when you think about it, but I hadn't been. It's also meant that I have profited from other's mistakes, buying items that have been badly marketed for a much cheaper price! My sales have definitely improved & I've streamlined how I work. The one thing he doesn't tell me, is where I can find cheap stock!
Since reading Dan's book I've spent a lot more time looking around ebay, getting ideas on what works, checking out what's selling well & considering how I might open a shop when I have more time.
Promised much, delivered little! - By: Dr. Thomas, 18 Feb 2008
Not a bad start for those who are new to ebay. However, for the more experienced seller it's very frustrating. There are occasional hints as to potentiallly very good ideas, but the answer is just to look them up on Google! Dan, you've had my money & I expect better. As he is still involved with eBay he is unable or unwilling to criticise - eBay isn't perfect, but nothing here is anything but praise. Similarly, his references to Paypal are gushing in the extreme - no hints as to how to avoid getting scammed by the massive holes in paypal's policies, no warnings about fees, payment delays, account suspension etc. The definitive eBay book is yet to be written - it may help if Dan Wilson becomes truly independent & puts his inside knowledge to good use.
It really is the bestselling guide to buying and selling on eBay - By: K. Street, 04 Feb 2008
If there is something you need to know about growing your eBay business then who better to turn to than Dan Wilson! Dan's experience at working at eBay UK for many years' shows, there is nothing this guy doesn't know about eBay!

He guides you gently from the selling basics to ramping up your business to the next level with in depth information on eBay's advanced features (Turbo lister, Seller Manager Pro, Marketplace Research, Pulse, Shops to name but a few!) he gives you practical advice on making your business more efficient & profitable. There is also clear advice on selling beyond eBay (Amazon, Websites, & Google etc)

I have on many occassions picked this book up & browsed through chapters again & again & have been inspired each & every time. I can honestly say this book has made a huge difference in how our ebay business is run & it is certainly the better for it! The savings we have made by following Dan's advice has paid for this book many times over.

An excellent easy to read no-nonsense guide, a must for any ebay entrepeneur!

Best ebay book yet - By: J. Coppola, 02 Feb 2008
I bought Dan Wilson's book before I even set up as seller on eBay & have not put it down since. I am now a successful gold level powerseller, selling over 300 items a month & I never bore of the book, I learn something new every time I pick it up. I don't think my shop would have ever got of the ground had I not had the book to refer to - definitely the best & most useful eBay book I read yet (trust me I have a few on the shelf).
From a beginner to established ebayer this book has something for everyone.
A lazy cash in. - By: E. Hanson, 19 Jan 2008
To put it simply this book is lazy. As an experienced seller it was promised that there would be something in here for me, in fact if you have a feedback score of 5 or more there is nothing in here for you at the very least you will find much better info on ebays community boards. If you have never logged onto ebay or are having difficulty using the site then I can see how this book might be of use. What the majority of this book is, is a summary of ebay's help pages thats it !!! also the whole way through alll it does is state the bloody obvious Page 115 for example under the heading "Price" he states this is the minimum price you are willing to sell your item for ? Another example "If you choose will post worldwide your item will be available to ebay members alll over the world".Well no s**t sherlock
Another problem with this book is his impartiality to ebay, even though he says he doesnt work for them anymore he questions anybodys integrity who has a bad word to say about them, & he loves pay pal so much surely he must be on comission.
There are no decent links in this book as another reviewer pointed out. Throughout the book its just links to ebay & if its not he tells you to search google, as well as that there is no index in the back either.
The only person who will be making serious money is Dan Wilson with this ridiculous book.
If you want a good book on ebay then a far better choice would be Robert Pugh's ebay business handbook where there is a wealth of knowledge & tips that you wont find on ebay itself.
