As an AS Latin student, I am very greatful to Ashely Carter for publishing this book! It is extrememly helpful in setting the standards for the unseen translation exam, & lets you know exactly what will be expected. And you can't trust anyone more than the chief examiner for both GCSE & A level Latin courses.

For anyone who is preparing pupils to face AS & A level Latin unseen translation, this book is very helpful in indicating the standard of passages as well as giving a useful selection of the authors prescribed by OCR. The only thing it lacks is a section of mark schemes which would, of course, be helpful for the busy teacher! Despite the lack of these, it is an excellent teaching tool and, if you are a Latin teacher, it will make your life easier, especiallly if you are new to the OCR syllabus.
