The cover looks great.
And Bloor...what a guy! Our modern day Baden-Powell! A man amoungst men!

Bloor has created a book aimed at A level politics students - & to do him justice, he's reallly tried.
Of course, one of the impossibilities of writing an A-level politics book is not only the broad range of topics in varying amounts of depth - but finding relavant examples, something Bloor doesn't even attempt to try.
I'd give this book 4 stars, because it's VERY good for learning the basic political context of each module - but it lacks on the substantive, & is frequently too shalllow.
Don't buy this book thinking it will get you an A - it won't - but it will provide you with the basis to go out & get yourself one.
Kevin Bloor, a Politics Writer of today for any student to enjoy - By: M. Edwards, 26 Nov 2006 This book covers not just the basics but the whole thing from simple ideas to complex notions. There is no question that this isn't one of the best AS/A2 exam books around. He writes in a intelligent but easy style to read, never is there a bit where it goes over your head, never is there a bit that sends you to sleep.
Kevin Bloor himself is a current teacher, I have met this author, & he is a modern guy, who isn't out of touch with the young of today. You have one of the best guys around to write one of the best books around on his strongest subject.
There should be no question in your mind when faced with which politics book to buy for your son/daughter/pupils/personal interest. This book will not let you down. The content helped me greatly, let it help you.
If only Kevin was a little more dashing... oh well

well recommended - By: john Dixon, 07 Sep 2006 Kevin Bloor has managed to do the impossible, make a work on A-level politics that combines ease with detail & practicalllity with fun. Although his work can certainly not be considered as highly in depth as others this acts as a pro rather than a con providing students with an A-level book that can be both revised & learnt from without being found dull as so many others are to the average A-level student. Although the book can seem to be a heavy load to give to a new student the writing inside is light, well written & (possibly more importantly) gives a structured & simple approach to what at times can seem a structureless course which makes this book both useful to teachers as well as pupils. the book is not only very capable of getting pupils through the exams but also of doing something very rare in getting pupils interested in the subject themselves. This is because the book itself is interactive not just getting pupils to understand the course in more detail through getting them to discuss political issues but also helps them find out about their own political beliefs.
