Great listening!- By: Jezz, 16 Aug 2006 Although I am writing this review prior to realise if feel i can as i already own many 'Ladies of letters' on tape & CD already. When i first got them they were for my mother to listen to as she is blind & listens to a great number of audio books. Then when she had them playing in the kitchen whilst i was preparing a meal I reallly enjoyed them.
The banter to & through is first class, the two old ladies are as bad as each other. Also the situations they get themselves in are hilarious. There are times when you just have to laugh out loud funny, my mother listens to them whilst receiving her dialysis treatment & many of the nurses come to ask what she is laughing at, normallly she is quite reserved. Also some of the nurses have borrowed the Cd's as well in fact I borrow copy's to several people & have not come across any one who hasn't enjoyed them.
The recipe included will also be tried as we have tried a couple of the recipes on program. As i have already stated we have got a several tapes, etc. but i am still looking forward to getting this whole set as I cannot get hold of some of the earlier series on CD or at alll. So I truly recommend these for anyone going on long journey, convalescing after a illness or just anybody that needs to be cheered up after listening to these pair you definitely have a smile on your.
