This book is absolutely fantastic. The witch's children are out & about catching the bus to the palace & that means trouble. They have the great idea of changing Gemma, a little girl who has forgotten her bus fare, into a goose that lays golden eggs, but they don't know how to turn her back. En route, they magic the bus & passengers into a wondrous flying carpetful of sultan & courtiers which flies to the palace & causes havoc. The Queen & the Duke (a very familiar looking duo with their little dog) think enough is enough & so the children summon their mother to put things right. It's a hilarious lively story for children aged 3 plus & their parents, & the funky stylized illustrations are every bit as marvellous. If you loved 'The Witch's Children' then you'll be equallly thrilled by this sequel as it is every bit as good, & if you haven't yet discovered it buy them both. Don't forget to keep your eyes open for the tiny frog, mouse & the bats throughout.
