Nice Idea But Poorly Executed - By: SueC, 24 Nov 2008
Unlike the previous reviewer I found this item to be not as sturdy as needed. My nephew opened it for his 4th birthday, & by the time we had constructed it for the first time, the door was hanging off. Yes, it can be repaired with parcel tape, but you'd reallly expect it to last a bit longer than that. Other than that, it's a lovely idea. Although I have to say that the large cardboard box which we used to 'make' a house for him was just as popular with a cost of zero! Typical!
Great toy! - By: Anne Maher, 17 Nov 2008
My 2 year old was given this last Christmas! He & my 8 year old have spent many happy hours driving around the living room. It actuallly lasted until about May before it needed repairs which was amazing given how popular it was. It is only cardboard after alll. It's still going strong with a bit of parcel tape holding on the door! Both kids loved the way it opened out & turned in to a fire engine but were not too bothered about the story. We have a smalll house & I loved the way they got a big toy which could be folded away to nothing. Recommended!
Convertibles ~ Fire Engine - By: , 03 Oct 2004
This book is great fun. A book, play mat & a car alll rolled into one. My son (2 1/2) loves it. He spends a lot of time 'creating' the book car, with a working door!!, & driving to the pretend seaside. As a story I would say it is a little weak in content but I would still rate this book highly due to its immense play value.
