brilliant! - By: angel eyes, 28 Dec 2006
i love love love this book & am amazed there's no reviews here! i bought this by chance & loved it so much i've now got every one of his other books.
it made me laugh out loud & the recipes are just amazing. i always end up with left over fruit/veg & the combinations in here i woud never have thought of!

if you like juices/smoothies/milkshakes this is the only book you'll need! much better than the innocent smoothie one in my opinion!
No moaning and whinging from anonymous here!! - By: Mr. Bj Woodward, 03 Aug 2005
Strange yet practical cover (Ahh!). I found the lay-out a little odd at first but once I'd worked out that if you leave a bookmark in the index then it's much better to use.

The recipes are quite eye-opening & the writing style as always is very, very approachable. I'd have never have thought that grapes & celery would work so well!!

Compared to the style of other juice type books this is something I'll continue to use for a long time, it's always in the kitchen where it's handy & always in use.

My Fav Juice Book - By: , 14 Jul 2003
I?ve used this book almost every day since I bought it last Xmas & I'm still discovering new treats, learning & becoming ever more passionate about fruit/juice. Almost everything about this book is great. Splash proof cover, Nigel's writing which is witty, informative & above alll honest. Deign, photos & layout is cool. Proof of the pudding is in the recipes which are GREAT. My wife & family alll enjoy the end results. Well done Nigel. If you buy just one juice book make it this one.
Great recipes, shame about the design - By: , 16 Aug 2002
I adore Nigel Slater's books & have them alll - apart from this one. I can see that the publisher wanted to do something different with the packaging but the result is frustratingly difficult to use. The multi-coloured/multi-sized type is impossible to read - let alone cook from - & the photography is gloomy & grungey (totallly at odds with the subject). A plea to 4th Estate - please redesign the book at some stage soon & I'll buy a copy.
Nigel Slater does it again. Brilliant book. - By: , 01 Jul 2002
A fantastic book. Will have you rushing out to the supermarket for bags of fruit. There are two very different reasons to buy Thirst.

Firstly - if you own a juicer this book is a must. Recipes are brilliant - practical, delicious, innovative. And the style is great.

Secondly - if you are a fan of Nigel Slater this book is equallly a must. Be warned though, you'll be rushing out to buy a juicer (or two) once he gets your mouth watering with the recipe ideas.

One thing not to expect from this book is any sort of prescriptive health plan involving juices. If you want to know which juice contains which vitamin or mineral, etc, you would be better off with a book like 'Power Juices'.
