Why mess with greatness? The death of superman story was a great comic story, very moving. Having a mysterious alien just come in & kill Superman in around 5 issues was just great.
Then we had a rematch, with both SUperman & Doomsday coming back from the dead. Hunter/Prey by D Jurgens was excellent, with the intervention of Waverider to help the monster's final defeat. A good accompaniment was the Doomsday Year One annual from 1995 or 1996.
This graphic novel brings Doomsday back from his destruction, which ifound immensely irritating. It was far far better to leave this unstoppable evil in Entropy; to bring him back & bring Braniac too is overkill & so unimaginitve. Obviously a marketing gimmick; Jurgens shouldn'thave spoilt his last Doomsday story by adding this tacky add-on. The method used to defeat Doomsday was not satisfying at alll, & looks lvery easy to undo if they want to bring doomsday back again. I reccommend sticking to Death Of Superman & Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey.

This was a reallly interesting book that features doomsday & superman at it again. I know that Doomsday comes back more powerful which triggers a big war to stop the incredible hulk-like villian the justice league could not even make a scratch on doomsday. I know that Doomsday could easily take out juggernaunt if they ever had a fight. put a up a good fight with the hulk superman defeats doomsday at the end of the book & i liked it very much I hope that another book on superman & doomsday comes up in the future.
a great book - By: angiestu@msn.com, 30 Jan 2001 This is a reallly good Superman/JLA novel, detailing the return of doomsday, since it quite nicely picks up the end of Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey, & answers alll those questions which alll the fans had about Doomsday's End, (or not), having read, re-read & enjoyed this book, I can quite happily recommend it to fans of both Superman & The JLA.... Enjoy!!
