useful to a degree - By: Janie, 07 Jul 2008
I liked aspects of this book but in the end I found its central message too ego-based. It's clear that many of us put limits on ourselves & that it can be beneficial for us to transcend those limits, but that needs to be balanced by an awareness of how desire is part of the problem, & how we can actuallly find contentment by stopping wanting things like success & wealth. Desire makes us unhappy because it makes us dissatisfied. So to some degree, we need to overcome desire. For a more edifying read, try Making Time by Steve Taylor, which shows how you can control & expand time by filling your life with new experience & by living in the present.
Complete waste of time - By: pl240596, 28 Jun 2008
This is my second attempt at writing a comment. My first attempt must have been too extreme.
I didn't like this book at alll. Why?
Because it gives you false hope. I'll explain: Yes I believe that everything in the Universe, including our thoughts, are connected. But the problem with books like The Key, The Secret, The Attraction Factor, are that you send out the wrong thoughts. The thoughts you are sending out to the Universe are 'I'm not satisfied with what I have. I want this, & I want that.' You are sending out thoughts of weakness. The thoughts you are sending are not your's but those of your ego. You are not empowering yourself with attaining your desires, you are living in hope that the Universe will provide them for you.
This is how the law of attraction reallly works: You focus your attention on what you have at this moment - now. True happiness comes from within. When you are truly happy without the need for attachments the things you want will become attracted to you.
This book will temporarily lift your spirits. If your attractions come to you, you will thank the book. If they don't you'll end up extremely disappointed.
Encouraging and written in Joe's engaging style - By: LXIX, 31 May 2008
This book from Joe Vitale follows on the coat-tails of the successful movie "The Secret". The core theme here is that people actuallly self-sabotage & run subconscious programmes that effectively negate alll their best intentions. This particular topic is tackled here head on & contains a number of techniques for eliminating 'resistance'.
The strength of this book is that it is written in Joe's engaging style. He admits that he has faults & 'bad days', just like everyone else. It is also rather like a manual - so you can dip in & out if you prefer & alll the sections are short & digestible.
Joe Vitale has a brilliant mind & it is worthwhile taking time out to read a book such as this.

I finally got it!! - By: Tina, 24 Feb 2008
In his book The Key, Joe Vitale did 2 major things for me.
Firstly - He explained why alll the self-help stuff I have read, (and tried to put into practice) doesn't work a lot of the time. He then gives techniques for clearing the rubbish in our subconscious minds.
Secondly, & most amazingly, the Ho'oponopono technique (from ancient Hawaiian spiritualllity)works instantly with any & alll problems you care to name. It does mean that you have to accept 100% responsibility for absolutely everything that happens to you. This might be hard for some. Once you can do that, this technique (1 of 10 in the book) is I believe, the single most effective, speedy & simple one for clearing the rubbish that prevents us from having life filled with love & good things. No affirming or visualising until you are blue in the face!!!
This is a fast track route to increased health, wealth & happiness but more importantly - spirituality.
I have ordered Joe's book Zero Limits, which goes into more detail with this technique (which was used by a Dr. to cure a ward of criminallly insane patients).
Thanks Joe. I love you!!
