wonderful - By: Janie, 07 Jul 2008
This books is an excellent guide to the technique of mindfulness. In essence mindfulness is so simple & yet extremely effective. It's something that we alll forget to do, & this book serves as a powerful reminder for it. The authors are free of academic jargon & are clearly passionate & extremely knowledgeable about the benefits of mindfulness, & the book is clearly not just for people who might be suffering from depression. I recommend it highly along with Eckhart Tolle's the Power of Now, & Steve Taylor's Making Time, which uses mindfulness as a way of living in the present & becoming free of the future & the past.

The Penny Dropped - By: Princess, 14 Jun 2008
Having suffered depression for 2 years following a particular incident & very bad year this book alllowed me to connect my emotional & physical systoms. Explaining in plain english what to do to stop the self turmoil. I am not saying this offers a cure but it certainly offers everyday coping mechanisims that are easy to introduce & stop decline. Highly recommended.
Good Sound Advice - By: Christina Lightfoot, 02 Jun 2008
This book holds advice that will help anyone. The wisdom of the practice of Mindfulness Meditation is the key. I highly recommend it along with 'Sacred Space' by Elizabeth Bailey.
Forgotten Way - By: A. J. Cripps, 22 Apr 2008
Half way through & thoroughly enjoying the book & results.

I remember watching a nature program about big cats hunting mountain goats in some far outreach of Northern Asia. In one shot they showed a mountain goat resting on an outledge surveying the vallley. In it's state it made me think we humans have lost something about being in touch with nature & what it is to be human. The power to be, not being distracted by the seemingly never ending stream of attempted assaults on our awareness that come at us throughout the day. Adverts, TV, radio, peer pressure, addiction - noticing rather than reacting to!

This book shows you the way to a more natural state of being imho. One of being calm & aware & leaves you with a feeling of general clarity!

A wonderfully written, user-friendly guide to this effective therapy - By: Michael Chaskalson, 08 Dec 2007
Having taught the methods these authors recommend to groups & individuals over the past three years I know that they work. But it's not always easy & one can find oneself caught up alll sorts of dead-ends. The authors are well aware of that & take pains to make their points with clarity & a deep sensitivity to the issues involved. The result is a work that is highly effective & very approachable. I can't recommend it too highly.
