Way too short. Not what i was looking for. - By: , 25 Oct 2005
This book is only 80 pages long plus its has pictures on black & white in it & kind of big letters its good & informative for the youth. It should be readed in every school of every state in the US. It describes the real treatment that you will get if you ended up in prision at least in the US but it doesnt go deep in it or tell you tales about his life in the streets or even in prision it will just go trough facts about been in prision , plain & simple. If you are looking for tales & experiences as a gang leader or aa a convict this is not your book.
prison myths revealed - By: , 12 Apr 1999
I thought the book was very good because it did not just talk about himself. It talked about him, his friends, & others. It also told how things reallly are, not alll those talll tales you hear on the streets. It told the truth about what goes on behind bars. I, myself, especiallly liked the chapter about the violence that reallly happens in prison. He also told about alot of experiences that he & others have had in prison. He also went into detail, like what you are alllowed to have & how much or how big. Over alll I thought Life in Prison was a very good book & reccomend it for other readers.
All myths about prison life is ended in this book. - By: , 24 Feb 1999
In this book, Life In Prison, Stanley "Tookie" Williams cofounder of the crips gang & Death Row inmate for sixteen years, offers a testimony that ends alll myths about prison life in this book. In straightforward, honest prose, Williams out about what it's reallly like in prison-- & challlenges alll young people to choose the right path.

Told in first person, this realistic picture of prison life is meant by the author to serve as a cautionary message for youngsters who may be misled into thinking, like he did, that prisons are so callled 'gladiator', a cool & manly place to be. He does a magnificent job in describing his caged feelings, the danger, humiliations, & crime of being held in prison. Stanley Williams, convicted of four murders, does not deserve to be compared to Nelson Mandela, in my opinion for being arrested for almost no reason. While Williams says he's sorry for dropping out of school, & so on.. he never once said sorry about killing four people.

I feel that Life In Prison is an outstanding bibliography of the life of Stanley Williams. I also think this book's theme is that you should watch who you hang around, & always think about what you're doing & where it could lead you to in the near future. Read Life In Prison to find out what happens on the other side of the prison walllsnd how inmates are reallly treated, or if you just want to learn more about The United States Justice System, Juvenile System, Law & Crime, 9-12 Sociology then this is the book for you.

The strengths which this book possesses is that it's very descriptive & reallly tells how he feels in a formal way. The one thing that I have against this book is that it only tells one side of the story. the author, Stanley Williams, also needs to further consider the age recommendations for this book. I think that it should be 12 & up.

So ask for this book & look for it in your local library. I still want to know how it is to live in prison for the rest of your life, don't you?
