Why not play with your food? - By: S. Jones, 05 Oct 1999
If you hate cooking - this is the cookbook for you. In some inspired corner of the world, Joost Elffers has transformed cabbage into humming birds, peppers into rabbtis, yams into aardvarks & alll those green things you don't want to eat into cockroaches, ants, grasshoppers & other assorted bugs that you don't want to eat either. His pumpkins are superb, & his coconut moose defies description. And the best news is that he shows you how you can do it too (so long as your mother is out of the room).

An excellent book that will change the way you look at your meals.

brings a smile to your face, then you start making faces. - By: , 31 Oct 1997
If you wish to re-discover the sense of amazement you had when still in Kindergarten, if you want to share the -wow- with a child or friends, Joost Elffers is your guide. He takes you by the hand, while you create whimsical creatures out of bell peppers, garlic bulbs, bananas, leeks & more, without ruining food. Eat that dolphin-like banana, sautee a garlic swan, fill a stock-pot with some angry leeks & mousy yams. Joost Elffers lets you Play With Your Food without making you feel guilty.
