Truth *is* stranger than fiction - By: Mr. D. Howlett, 27 Jun 2006
This hugely entertaining book details how a number of chancers believed they could take advantage of a forgotten part of Africa (that happens to be rich with oil) & make it their own.

A wonderful cast of characters, from the profit-soldier Simon Mann to the ever-woeful Mark Thatcher, & a plot from a boy's own book of coup making, create a great page turner that reads like a pulp fiction airport novel. The mistakes made by this group of would-be profiteering mercenaries defy belief, & the fact this alll happened in the real world raises the book from merely `entertaining' to `must-read'.

Thoroughly recommended, & a great read. Just don't get any ideas for yourself as you read it.....
