I found a spelling error in my copy of this dictionary "villain" was spelled "villian" which made me wonder if there were any others. This dictionary is a convenient size & very accessible but, sadly, that one English error has led me to mistrust the whole thing. There may be errors in the Russian which I can't spot.

This dictionary is frankly incredible for a number of reasons. 1. It has a very broad vocabulary. 2. It is very clear & easy to find your way around. 3. It tells you what cases should follow verbs, which is obviously very important for a learner of Russian. 4. It conjugates some of the less-regular verbs next to each listing. 5. It has alll word derivates listed together under the same root, which means that you can boost your vocab a lot faster, as once you have learnt a word root, it's relatively simple to remember the various noun, verb & adjective endings that go with it.
I'll never buy a foreign language dictionary that isn't Langenscheidt again, & I'm now replacing alll my other foreign language dictionaries with Langenscheidt editions. That's how good this dictionary is.

The Most Convenient Dictionary - By: , 20 Dec 1998 This is the best pocket dictionary I could recommend. The dictionary provides RELIABLE translations from both English & Russian languages. Overwhelming majority of non-professional words may be found in the dictionary in spite of its size.
Best Pocket Dictionary Available - By: , 04 Sep 1998 While living in Russia for two years I found this dictionary invaluable for conversing in Russian. Besides a lot of words, it has multiple grammar helps in the back - including noun declinsion patterns, verb conjugations & lots of other useful information. I have used 4 or 5 other pocket dictionaries - but through use, this is definately the best around.
