This is by no-means a patronising & jargon filled text - Bates adopts an empathetic genre that leaves the reader feeling inspiration & hope.
I found the authors synopsis of each chapter most helpful. Also, the book includes a chapter for people living with a depressed person. My friends & family's general consensus of this chapter was ease of understanding.
Unlike mank books, Understanding & Overcoming Depression offers practical advice to avoid relapse, a fundamental aspect to any recovery plan.
I find myself reguarly returning to this book, & would recommend it to anyone as an essential accompniment to therapy.
