If you want to a new hobby - By: , 04 Apr 2006
Then this book will be it, it is written as a course & study book, I found it very time-consuming & never managed to get going with it, there is so much to learn, so many endless possibilities & combinations & interpretations that you might as well not have a book - chances of a random outcome are the same. After a few months (yes I did persist) the pages came loose. It has been on a shelf ever since & I have gone back to using my other tarot books.
a classic - By: , 08 Sep 2005
Get amazing insights into your readings - the best book on Tarot interpretation I have found so far: recognise patterns in your spread, understand how individual cards relate to & emphasise each other. Also features a great general section about reading your spread, plus an interpretation of each of the 78 cards in depth AND in catchword tables. I found the lack of new age language & phrases very very "nurturing". The book only explains the Celtic Cross Spread (although in minute detail) & it refers to the Rider Waite Deck (and its offspring decks).
An inspirational Book - By: , 09 Jan 2005
If you are new to tarot i can't tell you how useful this book has been. I have had difficulty in understanding what the cards meant & this book has not only taught me so much about the cards but it has also taught me more about tarot spreads & tuning to your inner guide. It reallly works & gives you such an insight to tarot cards. Buy it, you will not regret it. The exercises are brilliant too.
A Must !!! - By: , 13 Feb 2003
This book by Joan Bunning is an excellent tool for beginners to get up & running with interpreting what the cards mean. If you have never used tarot before but are thinking about starting, i strongly suggest that you get this book along with a deck of rider waite tarot cards. Joan provides an example of a previous reading she had done for a client, & it was amazing to see how the cards had changed over a period of time. Thoroughly recommended..
Wonderful resource for beginners - By: , 05 Sep 2001
I can't recommend this book highly enough as a resource for beginners & experienced tarot readers alike. The book is very thoughtfully laid out with digestible chapters followed by thought-provoking exercises designed to encourage growth of your tarot reading skills. The book is based on Joan's web site & is available online, but it's still worth having a printed copy...
