could have been better - By: , 25 Feb 2005
One very good story but some of the stories were dragged out & predictable. Not going to be everyones cup of tea, some of it not so much taboo as nasty! Gave up on some of the stories. They lack the spark of a real persons fantasy, definately 'feels' like fiction. Some stories would appeal to bi-curious men, also sub-dom stuff. Not sure what i was expecting reallly, perhaps lacks enough variety.
Highly recommended. - By: , 02 May 2004
This anthology could easily be subtitled, 'shattering the myth that loving, committed couples indulge in boring, predictable sex'! As with the editor's previous anthologies (Sweet Life 1 & 2) we have a fabulous collection of stories about couples pushing boundaries & indulging in the most decadent & deviant sex - but this one pushes the boundaries to the extreme by focusing on taboos, the forbidden. Without wanting to give too much of the content away & spoil your reading, some of the great story lines include a sensuous, delicious new interpretation on getting your 5 portions of fruit & veg a day, (mmm taste the melon ;-) & taking the doctor/nurse fantasy to the extreme. Walking on the very edge are stories that feature weapon-play - subjects that are forbidden & taboo, but become eminently possible within the sphere of a committed, loving couple.
Amongst the many excellent writers included, there are stories from two of the best in the genre, Tyler & Roche. Alison Tyler's story perfectly condenses the essence of being in a hot, intense relationship, through the story of long-distance longing & teasing, followed by a gorgeously-sordid public reunion. Thomas Roche's sex-noir tale drips with dark lust, so vividly portrayed that the woman he writes about comes alive on the bed & the page. Phew...after reading this book you will definitely need a cold shower!;-) Violet Blue consistently shows through the erotica she selects for our delectation that couples can have some of the hottest action around!
