Though this was not as good as The Magician, & was not what i was expecting I did thoroughly enjoy this book. It starts off a little slow with Nialll meeting a bizarre race of beings which initiallly makes you wonder whats going on & where are the spiders.. But the relevance of his meeting with these beings comes into play later & then enters a companion in the form of spider..and from then on it becomes like the spiderworld books of old. The result i did enjoy reading this book & I hope he does write another book in the series... hopefully featuring more of the spiders though (particularly Dravig & the Captain).. Enjoy!

I am a big fan of Spiderworld... A BIG FAN...I have followed this series since discovering The Delta in a local library & collecting backwards! These books are fabulous. What a disappointment this final effort is in the series. For fans of Spiderworld this book although follows directly from the events of The Magician although it is as if Mr Wilson has entered a different 'fantasy' style & world to communicate his new story complete with giants & faerie-types - completely unlike the three previous, fantasticallly interesting books. For fans like me this is a must buy to complete the series (Perhaps Mr Wilson can retrieve the situation with the implied sequel) but you will be disappointed. Perhaps 10 years is too long a time in order to finallly complete a series & with alll respect to a hard working & respected author - this is not a good finale...
