I bought this book as I wanted to crochet a certain project & had no clue where to start. I'm so glad I did. It has everything you need to get started & very clear, easy to follow instructions. The pictures are large & use colours well to demonstrate each stitch. There was enough wool included to make alll the little projects though you will have to buy more if you want to make the scarf as well. The projects are nice & smalll which makes them quick to complete, just what you need as a learner.

There are also good notes about buying yarns, & converting from UK or States systems. They use the States stitch names in this book but I've since bought another that uses the UK names & found it very easy to follow having been briefed by Klutz. There is also a good needle included & hooks to mark rounds so the only extra I've bought for further projects has been yarn.

Crochet seems to be a fairly easy craft to learn, though in my personal opinion it might be a little difficult for very smalll chidren. There's a lot of counting involved & you need to remember where you are. I'd probably say about age 10 & up.

This is a reallly great set & worth hanging onto for reference.

I picked up this one in a toy store as something to do over Christmas & it was the best thing I could ever have done! The instructions are the easiest I have found - very clear & took away alll the frustrations that I had been feeling. The kit has enough wool to make the scarf on the front plus a little bag, which is just right for getting you going. The patterns are simple yet useful & timeless - I know I'll be using this book again & again. If I lost my copy I'd buy it again without hesitation.
