There are books on both the history of magic & actual magical rituals,but this is THE book that answers the question:WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN A MAGICAL LODGE & how to set one up,run it & successfully keep it going. The book is in 3 parts: 1.historical & theoretical chapters on the origins of the lodge system & symbolism,secrecy & theoretical lodge structure. 2. chapters 6 to 11 detail everything you need to know on a practical level.chapter 11 details a typical lodge meeting of an imaginary group. the final chapters look at joining a lodge,and deals with legal aspects like tax exemption status & articles of incorporation of the lodge. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED

This book is excellent for starting a magickal lodge. I'm in a group of seven occultists & this book has offered so many suggestions to keep alll of us honest. It explains the lodge structure & whtat it means, & then gives an example of starting a lodge, & then has a fictitious account of a lodge being created from scratch! Great book for establishing a lodge that will last a long time. No spells here, but information that's more important for group work. It's how to keep your group alive & not letting it falll apart.
