The World's greatest Atlas - By: , 21 Jun 1999
DK's World Atlas goes far beyond the usual calll of duty for atlases. It also gives a realistic look at alll of the countries in the world. I have had this book for about a year now. Each time I open it I discover something new. I have been interested in atlases most of my life, so I have seen quite a number of them. This one stands head & shoulders above the rest, & I will be first in line to buy the new version. I recomend this atlas for anyone. It is a valuable reference, especiallly for high school & college students. Indeed a wealth of information whose value outweighs its price.
Wonderful! - By: , 24 Dec 1998
I have always been pleased with DK publishing, & I have bought continuous updates of this book. I would reccomend it to any educational facility or a private book collector. It offers extremely valuable information about the world around us. Each section lists detailed information on the people, tourists, military, government, land, resources, prisoner numbers, everything you could ever want or need. A+ alll the way.
Excellent atlas with detailed, current data - By: , 28 Oct 1998
This atlas supplies much more than maps. It includes historical notes for each country (arranged in alpha order), plus info on climate, transportation, tourism, people, politics, world affairs, economics, resources, environment, media, crime, education, health & world rankings for key variables. Is an excellent source of data.

WONDERFUL AND HELPFUL BEST ATLAS EVER MADE
Outstanding - By: , 12 Jul 1998
This atlas is a solid building block for an efficient personal library. It offers a wealth of meaningful, well-organized information in the space of a typical dictionary or college textbook (it doesn't take up a whole coffee table like many atlases). I recommend complementing this work with Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 10th Edition, for a strong basic reference combination.
