Wasn't sure if this was meant to be a spoof or not. It was supposedly written to be set in the present day but had a very post WW11 feel to it. The names used were not modern day names, ie Betsey, Marion (aka Em), Bill, Dorothy & Dora. Also descriptions of the fashions were not current, women in their early 30's in the modern day do not wear twin sets & tweed skirts & calll each other 'dear', nor do they pull on 'pale blue slacks'. It reminded me of the Audrey Hepburn/Cary Grant film 'Charade'. I found it to be a light hearted story with little substance but fairly enjoyable
