My kids know it's my favorite - By: , 11 Aug 1999
If it's past bedtime, my 10 year can pull out Jesse Bear & lure me into reading with him a little bit longer. We've been reading this for 9 years & I still love it. The illustrations are lovely. The cadence of the book is fun! I almost sing the words & the final few pages have created a ritual of "three kisses' & "hugs" & a tranquil feeling from the last page. What a beautiful place to live. It's a great gift book for younger kids, new moms or just to have for a special 10 minute reading period with your kids. Great last book before bedtime book!!!

Cute Rhymes, Politically Incorrect Illustrations - By: , 18 Jun 1999
The rhymes in this book are catchy & my baby likes them, but the illustrations show Mama bear staying home & taking care of Jesse Bear alll day. Papa Bear's participation consists of coming home from work, reading a newspaper & giving a good night hug while Mama Bear supervises. Poor Papa Bear isn't a great role model....
really great for very young - pre preschoolers - By: , 28 Feb 1999
my child is reallly spunky & I didn't realize he would acutallly sit & listen, but because the book rhymes & the bear does fun everyday things he reallly identifies. He's reallly proud he can read the words alone - because the rhymes has helped him memorize the story.
