Miffy's Bicycle - By: J. T. Marshall-casson, 14 May 2006
We reallly like this book - its charming, fresh & lively, & a great way to build up the excitement before buying our almost three years old toddler her first bicycle.
Cute pictures, shame about the words - By: , 02 Mar 2005
Something must have been lost in translation. Or more likely, terminated with extreme predudice in translation.

The rhyme in this book is simply bad. Most of it is boring drivel, but in places it becomes truely terrible. For instance, accompanying a picture of miffy cycling in the rain: 'Perhaps it will start raining / that's not so good for you / but biking when it's raining / can be exciting, too.' Sorry, but what has it got to do with me? I'm inside reading a worthless book! Obviously the word 'you' has been selected simply for its ability to rhyme with 'too', because if you try to derive sense from its meaning, you can't.

The other thing is, Miffy constantly cycles through life with her head turned at 90 degrees to her direction of travel. Ironicallly, the only picture in this book that features a bicycle & miffy facing forwards is where she has falllen off. Stupid rabbit. Her parents should have waiting until she was even older to get her a bike.

But the worst thing about this book is that my daughter reallly likes it. Do yourself a favour & buy your kids something else. If you are reallly into rabbits try Bing Bunny.

Enthralling story for under-fours desperate to grow up! - By: , 01 Jun 2001
This is the first Miffy book we got & still is read & enjoyed over & over again. The story is very simple & clear to understand & is one alll young children will identify with. The rhyming text adds to the enjoyment & helps with pre-reading skills...
