Top book, very useful for pre-clinical medics - By: D. Thurtle, 10 Apr 2008
Good book that covers almost everything you're likely to need to know for pre-clinical pharm exams. Can be used as a revision text, with helpful summary diagrams on each double page & explanations that include the very basics. Seems to have quite a comprehensive index of drugs that will make it a good reference book in the future as well. Highly recommended.
Covers the basics - By: Kevin Snook, 26 Jan 2005
This book is great because it has lots of illustrations, which aid with the learning process, so excellent for those last minute exams. This book is definately geared towards medical students, nurses & anyone in an alllied health profession other than pharmacy. For students studying Pharmacy or Pharmacology this book is good enough for you to undersatnd the basics, but more in depth books would be required for you to gain the information needed to get those good answers in your degree. Great for understanding, but not comprehensive enough on it's own, for alll students.
This book is great! - By: , 26 Jun 2003
I am at GKT Medical School & am taught by Prof. Neal. This book definitely makes pharmacology so much easier to handle, dosing you with just enough information in a simple yet informative style. Definitely get this book...a must for pre-clinical medicine.
Worth its weight in gold! - By: , 07 Jun 2003
If there ever was a book to simplifying a subject matter in a succint manner yet conveying alll the necessary detail requried for understanding pharmacology, this attempt by Neal is definitely one fine example!

Taking the basic principles underlying drug action, Neal takes readers through a double page layout style covering each pertinent topic & drug class, outlining in a clear & easily readible manner the key details. This is backed up with equallly informative diagrams. Thus this book is well recommended as a first point of a calll when studying a drug or an ideal revision tool before exams.

The book that saved my life! - By: Christina Wilson, 07 Mar 2003
When you have one semester to cover a pharmacology module, the lecturers throw out alll these names of molecules involved in the autonomic nervous system...That's alll fine, but when it comes to the exam, you REALLY need to know what's what...if you've forgotten alll your Physiology principles, it doesn't help too much!
This book is PERFECT. Keeping everything neat & succinct, every topic is summarised with accurate, crisp schematic diagrams at the start of each chapter( which rarely extends beyond three pages anyhow ), covering the basics of most topics within this subject that you would need. It is THE ultimate revision crammer aid, thin & compact, so you can take it anywhere without weighing yourself down. Buy it now.....you won't regret it!
