I picked up this book to get inspiration for card making, little realising that I was to become a scrapbooking addict! I love it - there is some real British talent around in this American-dominated hobby. Lots of classy ideas to make your memories long lasting.
award-winning layouts - By: J. Kelly, 15 Dec 2005 Unlike many other books on scrapbooking this is not a 'how to' guide; instead it offers a selection of award winning layouts with snalll descriptions of the materials which were used & how. Saying that, each page includes several tips on how to use elements in your own work. Some of the layouts are so advanced that it seems impossible that I could ever create anything like that but others are more possible, & even the most complicated have elements which could be used by less expert scrappers.
Card-makers beware though - this book is primarily about scrapbooking, there is only 8 pages on the cards.
A Brilliant Inspirational book - By: , 06 Jul 2005 This is a must for anyone into scrapbooking, beginner or advanced. The designs are beautiful & simplistic too. There are some more artistic ones for the advanced scrapbooker too. The tips & techniques are very good & give you so many more ideas. You can't go wrong with this book & if you are a cardmaker too then there are a few examples at the back. But this book is mainly for scrapbookers.There is even an article on how to win scrapbooking competitions!

This is a book that you need for inspiration. It shows ways to scrapbook alll your precious memories & special moments. Joanna Campbell Slan & her team have done a magnificent job bringing together scrapbookers to show a special British flavour. The addition of a section on cards will give you ideas for using leftovers or experimenting on a smalll scale before you move on to your layout. With more than 120 scrapbook pages & 40 cards you will not be disappointed.

Inspiration does not end here though - there is a galllery of layouts from additional designers who received an honourable mention & layouts by the judges.
There is a lovely variety of styles & enthusiastic scrappers will not be able to wait long before trying some of the wonderful ideas. Whether you prefer simple layouts or truly artistic creations, you will definitely find this book a handy scrapbooking companion.
The card making section at the end of the book encompasses around 10 pages & the ideas are equallly as useful whether you are a scrapper or card maker. As a special bonus, one of the judges has even written a guide to winning scrapbooking contests, so if you are dying to have a go, this guide will certainly set you on your way. Shimelle Laine, the author of the aforementioned article, knows a thing or two about winning competitions too - she is a member of the Creating Keepsakes Halll of Fame & the Paperkuts Power Team.
This book represents great value for money.
