One small step... - By: J. Wren, 28 Mar 2008
After a year of total despondency, this great smalll book has reallly launched my dyslexic son's reading. Not only can he now read, but he wants to read & is happy to tackle new words with confidence. Brilliant.
Every parent should know about this book - By: Jo Black, 18 Feb 2008
After the school completely failed to help my bright 7 year old son to read properly, I was recommended this book by a friend who'd been through a similar experience with her son. This book has been a revelation. My son has improved so much with his reading that it is astonishing. Not only that, his self esteem has soured along with his confidence. The book is highly structured so has to be followed exactly but as it only takes 20 minutes per day it's easy to fit in around his other homework. It's not the most exciting thing to do - but I found that a sticker chart with a reward at the end of it works wonders to keep my son motivated. I shudder to think what would have happened if we hadn't found this book, but just thank goodness that we did.

My son now 13years was tested by oxford prof 6 years ago for dyslexia - she recommended this book & it saved my son's educatiion.Yes YOU have to sit down together & work through the book but the outcome is out of this world. My son is now in the top set for english & i still cannot quite believe it.In primary school i was told he would struggle just to keep up with the bottom percentage of children. If you have a gut feeling that your child is fallling through the education system & that the teaching is not helping then please buy, rent or get your nearest library to order a copy. My son is now a level 7 student & i put it alll down to this book & the prof in oxford who told us that dyslexia is a smalll word for a whole range of little problems.
A must for those who struggle with dyslexia - By: Kim Betts, 29 Apr 2007
Our daughter is dyslexic & we were advised to purchase this book. The book has been invaluable in helping our daughter to understand the sounds & learn to read words. She has greatly improved in her ability to read words although she does still struggle to read fluently. The book is very addictive both for ourselves & our daughter & it is very difficult to keep to the designated 20 mins maximum - she often wants to continue. I would thoroughly recommend this book to any parent/carer who is responsible for a child who is struggling to read. Absolutely fantastic.
