As usual Wisden is unmissable - the complete record of last year & (I write on the first day of the county championship) a foretaste of the delights of the English 'summer' to come. Thought-provoking essays take up the first part of the huge book, commemorating Colin Cowdrey & looking into the unresolved issues of match-fixing. The match reports which come later are marvellously evocative & readable. If your interest in cricket has been (re)awakened by England's progress, buying Wisden is the next step.
Wisden is back..... - By: tonyrivers@talk21.com, 20 Apr 2001
Yet again Wisden arrives on my doorstep with it's usual array of incisive writing & endless statistics. This year's offering includes a superb look into the continuing match fixing saga's which continue to shame the game. Also, in the 2001 edition there is an in depth look into last summer's test series victory over the West Indies, the first time England have captured the Wisden trophy for 27 years, in what included some very memorable cricket (who could forget the packed house on the final day at the Oval?). If you have even a passing interest in cricket, I urge you to grap a copy. You will not regret it !!!!!!!
Excellent as usual - By: , 18 Apr 2001
I bought Wisden for the first time last year, & I was thrilled! The match reports are witty & fun to read; not stating the obvious. THe statistics are comprehensive, especiallly the country Vs country stats. The articles are nice, I would have liked more of them. There are also good reviews on cricket magazines, books & periodicals. English season is covered in great depth. But even an international reader would enjoy it. First class seasons of other countries are also covered in some detail, & is interesting to read. All in alll a complete reference for any cricket lover.

Wisden is the best. It alllows me to keep a record of alll matches played alll over the world. The statistics are extremely thorough & accurate. Articles are enjoyable & intelligent. Reviews of new books, biographies & even video games are present. I bought Wisden 2000 last year, & am now never going to miss even one year.
